Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the TaxEngines website. By using the site you accept them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
Purpose of the website
TaxEngines provides online calculators, reference material and guides relating to UK tax and personal finance. The site is provided for general information and educational purposes only.
Informational use only
The content and calculators on this site are intended to help you understand and estimate. They are not a substitute for professional advice, official figures from HMRC, or your own records such as payslips and tax returns.
No financial or tax advice
Nothing on this website constitutes financial, tax, legal or accounting advice, and no client or advisory relationship is created by using it. You should obtain advice from a suitably qualified professional before making decisions based on your individual circumstances.
Calculator limitations
Our calculators produce estimates based on published rules for the tax year shown and on standard assumptions. They do not account for every individual circumstance.
- Results are annualised estimates and may differ from real payroll, which is calculated per pay period.
- Non-standard tax codes, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice and other specific arrangements may not be reflected.
- You are responsible for checking that the assumptions shown match your situation before relying on a result.
User responsibilities
You agree to use the site responsibly and to enter accurate information when using the calculators. You are responsible for how you interpret and use the results, and for verifying important figures against official sources.
Intellectual property
The design, text, calculators and other content on this site, except where otherwise stated, are owned by TaxEngines or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish or exploit the content commercially without our permission. Tax rates and thresholds themselves are public information published by HMRC and GOV.UK.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. In particular, you must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, interfere with its normal operation, use automated means to place an unreasonable load on it, or use it in any way that is unlawful or that could damage its availability for others.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaxEngines is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its calculators, including decisions made on the basis of an estimate. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
External links
The site links to external websites, including official HMRC and GOV.UK pages, for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external sites, and a link does not imply endorsement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date below shows when they were most recently revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
